We Do the Shopping!
Sealift
Our Sealift Service Begins By:
1.) You fill out our Booking Form. This gives us information we will need to fill out subsequent form.
2.) Booking Ship Space - We will book space with the shipping company of your choice by submitting the necessary paperwork for you. You are responsible for paying the shipping portion directly to the shipper.
3.) Book and arrange crating - We will book and arrange crating in Ottawa. Your order will be taken to TSC (The Service Company) for crating. Your shipment will be forwarded to Montreal docks for shipping. TSC will bill you directly for the crating charges.
4.) We can provide a Costco (Food and Dry goods) or Loblaw's (Condiment and Ethnic) list for easier ordering. We can purchase at Costco quicker due to the layout of items in aisles. Purchasing at Loblaws takes longer due to the store's larger format.
5.) We can shop at other stores and combine all purchases into one sealift order. When you are in Ottawa you may want to do some of the purchasing yourself. We can pick up your purchases and package them with the rest of your order. If you take your purchased items back to your hotel, we can pick them up and add these to your shipment as well.
6.) Once we have your order all together, we pack it to save space. We wrap liquids to prevent possible damage to other items. Products with strong scents such as soaps, bounce/fleecy, are wrapped to prevent odour transfer to other food items. All boxes and items are labelled to prevent items being accidentally mixed up with other orders. We also inventory your shipment to assure delivery to you. For our services we will invoice you for your payment before we deliver your shipment to the crater.
7.) Once our services are paid for, your shipment is delivered to TSC for crating. The crated shipment is then delivered to the docks in Montreal to meet the cutoffs for loading and delivery to you. TSC will bill you directly for the crating costs.
8.) The shippers will prepare the final contract once we have sent them the booking. You will sign the final contract with them and you will be responsible to make payment directly to them just before your crate is ready to board the ship.
1. A month before submitting your list, take notice of how many items you use regularly per month. Take this figure and multiply by 12 to get an accurate number for your order.
2. Divide lists. Example: Kitchen, Bathroom, Laundry, Bedroom, Pets.
3. Easy To Use Lists.....Contact us for our Costco or Loblaws Lists.
4.Not on the list....Provide product names, numbers, description, and price if known, for better identification and time saving shopping costs.
Sea Lift Cost Saving Tips
5.Traveling to and from store is same for one item or 20. Order enough to make it pay unless the item is important enough to justify the trip.
6.Picking up several of the same item is more cost effective than purchasing one item.
7.Get your order in early. For certain items, there are sales available earlier in the season that are not available later in the year.
8.There is less pressure for companies involved earlier in the season. As time goes on, pressure to meet deadlines can lead to greater chance of errors. Earlier sealifts means better service and cost savings to you.
9.Earlier Sealifts do not have the worries of meeting final deadlines, and weather conditions later in the season.
10.Purchase items you cannot get in your community or items that are very bulky in size. These always cost more in your community.
11.Greatest savings are obtained when sealifts of $2000 or more are purchased.
